Maybe I am going crazy, but I swear it sounds like there is a computer processor under the dash of my truck that is LOUD. It almost sounds like a CD changer when its switching between CDs. The noise from down near the carpet, or in between the carpet and the dash.

If you look at the navigation and then straight down, thats where ive pin pointed it to. You can hear it at low volume on the stereo and with the truck running, its QUITE annoying. Turn radio up and obviously its drowns it out, but at an idle and radio off it sounds like a desktop computer is running in my dash and doing a **** load of calculations!

Anyone had similar experience? Would rather not put the stock exhaust on for warranty work if i dont have to

Mine does it too. there is a relay box right under the dash and they just make noise. Or so I've been told. My dealer says there is nothing they can do about it

In my opinion that is bull****... It doesnt happen in all of the trucks, and i know for a fact its more than i want to deal with after spendy 30k on a truck.

Im going into the local dealership in the morning.

Anyone else have this issue?

haha yess. I have nav as well, not sure if trucks without it hear it. But I know what you mean, my truck has always done it with or without the heat/ac on. It almost sounds like some kind of pump sometimes because I almost think I can hear water dripping or running as well. I only hear it idling with no music on

To answer the question about the noise still audible when you turn it off is the actuator is still cycling waiting for the shaft to reach it's position but it can't.

Posted this in the other thread:

It's the Blend Door Actuator. I replaced two of the three and it stopped the cycling of the motor. The noticeable difference was the old motor shaft was out of position so when it closed the door the motor was not at the closed position and kept trying to apply an actuation signal to the motor constantly. Little did it know the door had hit it's end of travel.

The time involved to replace the drivers side and the upper passengers side will be about 5 hours and there is little to no room for your hands to get to the bolts to remove and replace.

You will need to remove the center dash cosmetic cover, radio, glove box, passenger air bag unit and lower covers under the steering wheel and under the center console. Good luck!

As do I. Trucks without navigation do it also. Most of my buddies 6.4s do this to.
