Ok thanks to some help from you guys on here I have figured out everything I need to start on my compounds minus one thing.... The oil drain line for the low pressure turbo.

From my research I have concluded in needs to be 12an line but is drilling and tapping the upper oil pan the only place I can run the drain line? Why can I not drain it into the lower oil pan?

Is there any other place that the oil can be drained to (whether it be upper or lower oil pan)?? I figured I would throw this one out there too LOL

I believe Matt did Lance's right into the oil pan, but high enough for it to be above the oil level in the pan. The oil pan would be easier than the bed plate. My vote is pan....nothing wrong with doing it this way.

Ya I am trying to avoid drilling and tapping into the bed plate… too much room to cause major damage… how high do you think the oil sits in the lower oil pan?

zero issues so far with it high on the pan. drilling on top of the bedplate is ideal but a pain in the ass.

nope. drained it, drilled with a greased bit, shop vac and magnet to fish out shavings then flushed the pan with oil. filled it up and drove it home then changed the oil again. much better than lifting the motor to pull the pan. it ain't pretty but it works and no issues so far.

So the pan is thick enought to tap?

I am not sure if it can be done, if there is room or what on these motors .... but on the dodge 5.9L it could be returned to the timing cover.

Flying blind on this one as I have never really even looked at the timing cover on this truck but it worked well on the dodge if you didnt want to drill the pan.

Mines in the same spot as lances and I have yet to have an issue. If you have the motor out of your truck you might as well do it in the bedplate, but I dont think its worth pulling the motor just to put the return in the bedplate. Just my .02
