Oil return fitting location

I'll be placing my atmospheric turbo oil return fitting in the valve cover. Does it matter where on the valve cover I drill my hole?
I.E. back, front, top, bottom

On my imports, we always returned to the oil pan.

it does not matter, so long as it gets back to the pan somehow.
