Just wondering how high is your oil temperature getting. I am asking because I have watched mine hit 249 and stay there for a good while.

I don't tow. But never seen mine above 202. How long was it at 249 for? Towing/uphill and outside temp?

No towing at all maybe had 1,000 pounds combine between people and some stuff in the bed and a couple of up hills. 249 for 1 1/2 hours

First thing change your oil.
Next get the sensor checked. I is okay you may need a oil cooler. I often tow over 18,000 pound and my oil has never been over 240 and that was in heavy hills.

Wow thats cooking. You had to be turning some RPMs. What was your coolant? It should have thrown a code if they was spread out too far

2100rpm if that I was going about 80-85mph got no code. I guess in a way it might be the oil because it has about 5,000miles on it. Last oil change I used rotella 15/40 but even then the temperature 210- 220. And before that oil change I used motor craft 15/40 and temperature was 200-215

I hit 231 towing yesterday with the coolant at 221, tranny hit the highest I have seen since the tranny pan and tuning, 210.
Approx. 18000# fiver, the most crap I have had in it plus fuel and water.
104 degrees going over a pretty steep pass in Northern CA. Altamont pass on 580 if you want to see it.
After the pass everything cooled right back down.
I usually see in the 213-220 range for the oil, 200-210 for coolant and 180 for the tranny. That is towing the above. Unloaded it is a little lower but not much.
I have found with my truck tune doesnt really matter on the temps, as long as the EGT's are through the roof for a long period of time. It is your right foot and rpm. Keep on the floor and the rpm high for a while and the temps will go up.
