Fixing to pull the trigger on some new shoes on the 250. Need some opinions on treadwear/mileage of some tires.

Size will be 305/55/20 on a 20x10 either Novis or REPRs. (Still wishy-washy on which.)

1: Mickey Thompson ATZ

2:Toyo Open Country M/T

3: Nitto Trail Grappler

These are my choices in that order. Price is almost a wash at $10-$15 difference between the 3.

I ran the ATZs on my 06 F150, and they are actually still on it with roughly 62k on them. They are cupped, mostly due to my neglect from not rotating them, but they still have decent tread on them. I'm wondering how they would last on a heavier truck.
The others, well, that's where you guys come in.

Thanks,
Justin

You price out the Toyo AT2 yet? I have little miles on mine and love em so far. These are a 60k tire. And are fairly aggressive for a AT I have a buddy that switched from the Nittos to the toyos and loves the new Toyo more I guess.

Just some input for ya, I posted some pics on my thread about OBS on 20's

I'm not a fan of the atz or trail grappler no experience with the toyo. The last set of 295 trail grapples I had, not much longer after 1/2 tread and they vibrates horrible and started wearing funny. The atz my buddy had on a truck and I wasn't impressed with there offload performance. IMHO I really like my Goodyear wrangle duratracs

I just ordered a set of Toyo Open Country AT II's today in a 305/55/20. Awesome looking tire, awesome tread life warranty, and they're not bad priced either. It was down to those or Cooper Zeon LTZ's for my next tire. The Cooper's were almost $200 more total. Only negative I've found going with the Toyo's is the wait time. My tire shop called their two suppliers today. 6-8 weeks. I'm willing to wait though.

I'm on 33's now. See avatar.

Hey Jeff. What kind of mileage are you getting out of the Toyos?

The MT's that I had on? They were wearing pretty well. I'm not sure on exact mileage though. I think I had them on 8,000 miles and they still looked awesome. They wear quick initially but then the wear slowed down tremendously. I was impressed with all of the highway miles at 70+ MPH they had on them. They're now on Josh's truck from Darkhorse Diesel (dieseljosh07).

Well, they SOLD the last set of REPRs last night, and the last set of Novis today... to ME!!!

So, it's 20x10 BMF Novis wrapped in a 33-12.5-20 Toyo MT. :redspotdance:

Thanks to all that coerced me over the edge. :pint:

Yeah, I've flip flopped a lot on what I like. I'm finally happy though. The lowered setup with chrome wheels makes me happy. Your truck will look awesome with 22's and 35's on it. Can't wait to see it completed!
