I got an orange warning light and a "reduced power" message on the dash. I press on the gas and the engine revs and sounds loud but it feels like no power is going to the wheels. I thought it was the egr and *** so I went ahead and ******d those. I bought an sct x4 and I'm getting my custom tune with the egr and *** from dpe diesel performance engineuities. I'm afraid this won't solve the problem though. I'm thinking of getting a coolant filter and doing a coolant flush. Also I'm thinking of buying an auto engineuity obd2 scanner from riff raff diesel because I'm just throwing parts at this problem and I'm very much in the dark. It's $349 but I figure I'll probably pay that and more with just one visit to ford. I know that's a lot of info but the short version of what I'm asking is. Anybody have this wrench light and know of a definite fix? Thanks guys. Oh and I included a pic of the sct scanner readout at idle.

you need to start off by checking the codes, if its in reduced engine power It should tell you a code.

Are you getting any Turbo boost? If not check your intercooler hoses. Mine are Ford blue. My was just cracked but was sucking air. I could punch it and not pick up any speed. My bottom hose on the driver'side front under the radiator had a tear or crack. Someone lead me onto it or I would have never figured that out. GL

I tried getting codes from my sct scanner and I received some nonsense general code errors that are not ford. I'm going to get my hands on an obd2 scanner and give it a shot tommorow. If not I'll have to shell out for the auto engineuities scanner with the ford package. I'll also do some reserach today and after work I'll locate and check the hoses today buckii2, at least that's something I can do that won't cost an arm and a leg. I appreciate the tip. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll get those codes up here as soon as tommorow.

I went to autozone and rented and obd2 scanner and it gave me 11 codes. All but 2 of them had to do with the exhaust and egr ******s . Correction: I received my tune today from power stroke engineuities. Kevin helped me out. Once I installed the updated tune it eliminated all but the air bag light on the dash. Car sounds good but I still feel some hesitation in the engine when I accelerate. The wrench light is gone. I'm going to drive it tommorow and see if the light comes back.

I had the air bag light on my 08. Ended up being the clock spring. Ordered it online from a Ford dealer in Wisconsin. Cheapest and OEM. Other problems it caused was none of my controls on the Sterring wheel worked. You will need a t 50 socket. 08 you do not need a puller. Disconnect battery before messing with an airbag.

Ok, I got a obd2 from discount and cleared all the codes. Then I Installed A New Custom tune That Eliminated ALL The Sensors From The Removal Of The D P F and e g r. Then I
borrowed and rented 3 different code readers. No codes except the airbag light is on. It won't give me an airbag code either. I feel like the previous wrench light problem is gone. I also received a brand new air filter light on the dash. I have the air filter on order in addition to a coolant filter and the fuel filters. I've decided not to mess with the airbag. Truck is good after the d e l e t e s and custom tune. Thanks guys. Also the turbo makes a noise after spooling up like it's straining so I'll be replacing turbo hoses soon. If that doesn't clear it I'll try to have the turbos taken apart and cleaned since the truck is at 174k.

Oh and I forgot to mention I got the custom tune from Kevin at powerstroke engineuities. It's a street tune and I have to saw....wow. I always heard people say the truck comes alive but it is unrealistic how much improvement in power there is. I feel like I can take on almost anything on the road. I don't race though so hopefully I'll see some added fuel mileage as I'll be keeping my foot of the pedal. I'll let you guys know after I install the rest of the parts this weekend How it's running. Thanks for the feedback!
