I took my traction bars off for the first time since installing them a little less than a year ago and had them spill alot of water out. I've only driven the truck about 5k miles with them on. Never saw snow or salt. And honestly wasn't even washed that much. Nor does it see an ounce of off road water crossings. All orings are in place on the coupler. I'm not too happy about it. Anyone else have this issue?

PS bar...this only half of what came out unexpectedly.

Both bars had about the same amount.

I've always wondered about this but have never seen it. I hope the make it right for ya, it couldn't have done any good to the inside.

Rotting from the inside out. All it takes ie some temperature change and condensation builds inside they almost need a small drain hole in the bottom of the bars to let any water escape

You think condensation would amount to that much water? I poured out alot of water. One side was actually near being completely full.

Interesting, When I took mine off I didn't have any water in mine. It rains like 9 months out of the year here.

1st question...Did you call Dave?

Next set of questions.... Did you put lock tight on the bolt threads at the bushing? How did the orings look at the coupler? Any of them torn or damaged? When you installed the bolt at the coupler did you put a dab of silicone on the bolt per the instructions?

I did not call Dave yet. I'm not bashing his product. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else.

No lock tight on the threads. I used antiseize and they were tight still you can see they were sealed in my pics.

As far as the silicone that is a no. That was not on my directions... And I still doubt that is how THAT much water could enter.

Haven't pulled them apart yet to check the orings. But I'm fairly certain they were not damaged when assembled.

Seems like something has got to be a little fubared. Do you have a boat? Or do some wheeling in some deep water? Or maybe pressure washing. Just thinking maybe something was messed up and then the water got in there. You could probably drill an 1/8" hole in the end, where you wont see it to help.

My truck never sees off road. And it doesn't even have a trailer hitch on it regarding your boat question. LOL I've only pressure washed it once this past year with every other wash just being a garden hose and by hand. I'm smart enough to know not to spray directly at the coupler for 20 minutes. Haha

You can see where I'm puzzled. I'll talk to Dave tomorrow hopefully.

I have not had that problem with mine and mine have been submerged under water.

Give Dave a call to see what his thoughts are.

I should've brought this up with Dave first before here and I do feel bad about that. He will stand behind his product. I'm still a 100% satisfied customer and will still speak highly regarding OUO's products. Never felt otherwise even with the water issue.

This is what Dave drew up to hopefully remedy the situation.
