The flashing light means a code was stored to tell you what's wrong. Without the code everybody is lost. The auto parts stores that read codes free cannot read this code.

Unhook your battery's turn on the lights, it'll stop the od light and hard shifting
Yes it will, until the next time the problem is found. That could be as soon as the key is turned on.

The RIGHT way to fix this is to read the codes and fix what's wrong.

See? Read the code, find the problem. Unhooking the batteries would clear the code, but only until the key was turned on again. Reading the codes isn't a punishment, it is the easiest way to find the problem.

I had that off and on for a week then my truck stopped moving......

Sucks cause i couldn't get my truck in to read the code due to work.

if you had the banks trans command, and removed it, you have to reposition the pins in the harness on the trans, as 1 or 2 was either removed or repositioned.
I removed mine and had a similar issue, and you have to make sure the pins are seated in the clip very well.

the wiring schematic is listed on their site, or at least that is where I found it when I needed it.
