So I went to start my 6.ho and no buzz, turned The key off and on a couple times and started fine. I knew what was up already. Retrieved DTCs and popped up the good ole p0611. I want to hear y'all experiences with stock and upgraded ficms, how they perform withdiffrrent mods such as bigger sticks or customer tuning. LETS HEAR IT!!:poke:

I get my 48v custom tuned FICM from Mike @ KEM tuesday along with the 210's and 64 non vgt...I will post a thread soon. smokinstroker loves his FICM tune form KEM..maybe he'll chime in

The mods never stop do they?

I would like to see back to back dyno results from swapping a stock healthy ficm to a tuned/modified ficm. Has anybody done this?

I still get the 0611 code with my 58v tuned Idp ficm . Thats been fixed with the new ones though. It makes a seat of the pants difference in power and it definitely starts good in the cold.

From my understanding there I no power gains but just better injector control. CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG. I read it a while back on a site that sold 58v ficms.

On Swamps site they talk about the 58V FICM adding 40rwhp gains..

Off there site:

The higher output voltage of our 58v FICM forces the fuel injector to open more quickly, which allows the fuel injector to flow slightly more fuel than the lower/stock voltage unit. The quicker action of the fuel injector also slightly advances the injection timing. The results with the 58v FICM is that the truck will pick up an additional 40rwhp; even with the standard Ford programming.

NO the 58v is NOT adding those gains, its the custom ficm tuning that is giving any kind of gain.

58v upgrade will just improve cold starting ability, Im sorry but I see no way in how a little more voltage will enhance injection timing when the programming isn't commanding the module to send to the injectors...

Not sure how the 58V upgrade is doing that, but i do know that the FICM tuning can change PW and allows the injector to stay open longer to fill more before the fuel is pushed into the cylinder...thus creating more HP. I have a stock 48v FICM with ID's moderate tune in it and it's a huge difference. I've talked to some that have got the FICM tuned first and then got the 58V upgrade later on and noticed no difference from when they got the FICM tuned to when they got the 58V upgrade.

In my opinion I think its horse poop, Id love to be proven wrong with dyno results from a good 48v to 58v and see what the gains are... A local truck just swapped one out for a 58v and noticed nothing but quick starting when cold. He has the latest flash

My truck is stock, I will be installing the 58V with the latest Ford flash in a couple of weeks.. If anyone is going to notice a power gain it will be on a stock truck IMO..
