Did you try clearing that code and see if it came up again. And yea idk why it would throw that one if you just put new icp on it.

Hpo isn't up to snuff would be my guess. It sets the SES light initially and then the light goes off but the code will remain. Sounds like classic hpo dropping off.

Am I missing something? If it's setting the code you are lacking oil pressure at some point. Go out, hammer the ***kin thing to the floor, if it sets a SES light the pump is shtting the bed. If not you have possibly an electronic issue(ipr, icp sensor). If you are light on the pedal all the time you won't know that you have a dying pump. I've got something that reads code in my truck at all times and I've never seen a soft version of 1211. I believe you, no doubt, but I'm just not sure what your process is for troubleshooting this. Seems cut and dry.

i am not light on the pedal at all. the 1211 code has not kicked the light on the only light that comes on when i burry the pedal is the overboost. i can tell that something is getting wore due to longer start period and its choppy if that makes sense at idle not like a total missfire ive felt that. i am just trying to figure this out, knowledge on the hpo system is very limited first diesel and learing by doing it. thank you.

Got ya. Are you physically able to monitor icp? If so, hammer it and see if it falls at WOT. If so, regardless of anything else you need a better/New pump or try having some custom tuning done by php or gearhead. You might just be seeing how crappy superchips tunes really are.

Mileage on your hpop?

i do not have anything to but maybe i can get some #s if i can get my mechanic to let me borrow his scanner saturday. ya ik superchips sucks lol. takes so long to switch stuff and i only notice small difference. original hpop im assuming. maybe this whole problem is due to crappy superchip but i doubt it.

1211 is ICP higher OR LOWER than desired.....

don't listen to every one saying to throw parts at it... Get it figured out...

you could have bad injector o-rings, bad IPR orings, ETC causing same thing....

Most common is when your on the go pedal.... but not always the case....

^^^^ whs. Injector orings can also cause the hard starting and choppy idle. I'd get the AE and check it out. By far the best tool I've ever bought.

Sent from my x2 somewhere

yes if the pump and inj tests check out fine then ill look at the ipr orings and go from there. the can the ipr be tested? because that would cause higher or lower pressure also correct?

Where are you located? Bet there is a member fairly close to you with either a scanner or AutoE that would be willing to help out.

Mine throws the codes when I romp on it... its just that your injectors are calling for more oil than your pump puts out. Computer will trip a code faster than the pump can build that desired pressure...
