2002 F250. Random rough idle usually right after startup and hard starting after warmed up. Just rebuilt motor, everything new and stock except for cam and tuning from gearhead, also have IDM mod. I only get code when i do injector buzz test and i also get P0269- cylinder 3, P0284- cylinder 8 contribution/balance fault when i do contribution/balance test. I was told it was from the IDM mod but i have been running the IDM mod for 3 years now without any problems. Is it time for a new IDM? Please help only 500 miles on new motor and already problems.

I get a 1298 sometimes. I have a modded idm. Runs fine though. The contribution sounds like the cam sensor causing them to fail.

check icp pressure cranking hot and cold, most likely injectors not torqued properly and bad upper injector orings on cyl# 3 and 8 (second one back on pass. side and rear on drivers side) if so ipr % will be above 14% idling warm, you can verify leak by pulling valve covers and starting engine observe for oil spraying around the base of the injectors, also check to make sure injectors are torqued to 120 in lbs
I checked icp and it was the same hot or cold but i cant remember what it was, will check again tomarrow and see. I just put new injector cups in and new orings on injectos and torqued to 120 in lbs. I will pull valve covers and see what i can find. thanks for the info
