Wanted to know how you'd go about painting the factory grille. More or less how would you go about taking the chrome platting off. Would media blasting harm the plastic too much? Thanks.

I dont know how well it would stick without removing the finish so Id try to sand it down and go from there. Media blasting would be to harsh imo.

I think my buddy has lariat grill laying around that he took off because it had wear on it from a bug deflector if you are interested in experimenting with it. Send me a PM if you want it and Ill get it from him.

Dustin (dzchey21) painted mine when it was in WY, don't remember how he prepared it, but if you ask him I am sure he will share.

Sanded the chrome smooth. Self etching primer. Then epoxy primer sealer. Color. And then clear. People paint chrome all the time

Wasn't the chrome grille so I didn't sand but it's still looking brand new after about 2 years
