You may want to consider getting the next size up socket coated as well.

If you go black it is real easy to just touch up the edges.

Konnor, the only way is to powdercoat the lugs and also powdercoat a little bit larger socket. that's the only way it would work.

Yeah and even powdercoat can chip. I got some really expensive ones that were somehow made black and they have yet to chip/pit/peal at all...and they better not for what I paid for them.

I've seen painted ones. The problem is when you torque em down, it cracks the paint. It may not even chip off immediately, but as soon as you get some water under the paint and some freezing temps or whatever, they chip.

I've also seen powdercoated ones, they last more than a few months like the painted ones, but eventually get water in via the threads not being coated and water seeping in, then the rust and the powdercoat bubbles and chips off..might get a year or 2 out of a set.

I got mine from Summit Racing. They are actually "black chrome" meaning they are dipped instead of painted or powdercoated.

Heres what they look like:

They don't look like what you'd think of when you hear "black chrome" they just look semi-gloss black. Black chrome makes me think of this when I hear it thanks to so many wheels being done like this...

how much were they

4 bucks a pop. They've worked great so far, we'll see how they do after a few more rotations, but you can't even see where the teeth of the socket touch them.

Those are painted, not "chromed" won't last.

Also, check to make sure you get the right pitch. If I remember right, they changed it at some point from 2.0 to 1.5 cause I swear I got 2.0s for mine. I'd check to make sure for you, but I'm working off of cell phone internet right now and don't have the patience.
