Painting textured plastic to high gloss

What's the process? Wanting to paint some interior pieces with a high gloss finish Bondo sand primer sand up to 1000 then paint then clear?

Sand with 400, bondo , sand 400 , 600 , primer , paint , clear. That how I learned any way .

Thanks man will bondo adhere no prob? Been playin with them all day but haven't tried bondo yet

I usually just use primer, i always use an adheision promoter directly on the plastic to help it stick, bondo might be a bit over kill but it should stick.

Adhesion promoter and high build primer has always worked for me.

I'll try some stuff had trouble today gettin the primer to stick maybe the weather as soon as I started sanding its gum up

That's what i like about a thin coat of bondo , it sets fast and you can sand no problem . It is a bit overkill but the more you do before you paint the better the finished product will be .

I read somewhere that I could resin coat them first then prime?

I would skip the bondo deal. Too much work.
Clean and scuff plastic then spray some 2k sandable primer.
Sand it smooth and paint.
