What's invloved and what's the best way to go about this? Is it doable in a day without pulling the trans? And tips or tricks are welcome. Thanks

Drivers side up pipe isn't all that bad. Disconnect your EGR crossover pipe (back pressure sensor tube as well) so that you can somewhat move it aside. Remove all the up pipe bolts and remove from the bottom.

Some of the uppipe to manifold bolts are easier to reach through the fender well if you remove the liner also.

Would it be easier to remove the cross over pipe when the up pipe is out of there? Wanna eliminate the freezing issue I was having in the winter, nice thing about the egr delete I got is it had a hole to relocate the tube already tapped in the plate

It'll definitely be easier. I have weaseled one out before without cutting it. Don't remember exactly what I did though. But I'll usually cut them at the top and it makes it much easier to remove.
