Alright Guys, Can't figure this one out. A buddy of mine has a 2009 F350 with a 6.4 Powerstroke w/ automatic. Truck is ******d with *******, has EGR blocked off, race pipe has all sensors in place. Truck has been delted since 25,000 miles with no other problems, currently has 155,000 on it. The other day PATS light on the dash was flashing. Tried both keys, nothing. Did all the procedures we could think of to reset it...still nothing. Had to towed to the local Ford dealer.

At the dealer, we tried putting the PCM/TCM back to stock. We couldn't get the ******* nDash to communicate with the PCM. After talking with ******* (Thanks Mick) they said it sounded like a PCM issue. And that's what Ford found out...PCM was junk. Replaced PCM, reprogrammed two keys.

Fast forward till Sunday, rain on Cape Cod. Truck wouldn't start again, PATS light flashing on dash. Called up for a tow, they pick it up bring it back to my shop. Driver tried starting it, truck fired right up and he left it running for about 15 minutes. Truck died after that 15 minutes, right before I got to the shop. He left everything alone, PATS light flashing on dash again. We didnt cycle the key, and it started right up. We have driven the truck since then with no other issues. This is my buddies DD and we are trying to figure out whats going on with it.

Today, we went through and checked all grounds to PCM and TCM...all good. Using the workshop manual we went through and checked all wiring going to the PCM, which Ford did as well and they said everything was all good. Figured we would go over it again just to be safe. Just curious if anyone else has run into a similar issue or has any thoughts.

Thanks!!!:morons:

Using factory keys? Seen some issues with aftermarket ones not waking up the transciever properly, or it losing it.

Check the transciever maybe. Its the deal around the tumbler. Also, can you pull any codes? Does it have a factory alarm, is there also an aftermarket alarm tied in at all? Or an aftermarket remote start?

Checked transciever...all good. No codes whatsoever. Has a factory fob that he uses everyday. After doing a little more digging, and completely removing the entire dash, we come to find out it has, well had some hacked in aftermarket remote start. We removed that, brought everything back to stock and all is now good. We found the components to the remote start stuffed behind the radio...not the usual place to find them.

Appreciate all the help guys!!
