hey guys I have a 2000 powerstroke that the pcm code NVK5 went out on and a friend of mine have me a XLE4 to try on it. my question is, can the ford dealership flash the computer to a PMT1 or NVK5? cause the truck runs like crap and shifts weird with the XLE4. thanks

Mmmmm good question. Ill find out for u. As long as the PCM hardware is the same we can blank flash. If U have a spare PCM u can send it to me and I have a bench flasher I made to flash eecV PCMs.

The XLE4, Is for the E99 engines. (and flashed for AA (single shot) injectors I think...)
Could be why you're having such issues running it.
From reading some other threads - you can put the PMT1 and NVK5 to use on the older engines (with tuning) but not the other way around using the XLE4.
You'd probably be better off just swaping out the PCM with the correct one(s) that can be used on your engine.

I don't believe you can flash an XLE4 to PMT. I think there was a PMT3 in the classifieds here. All you need is a DPC-422 PCM.

Nope doesn't work that way. They are different DPC families.

Look here Pm this guy and see if he still has this for sale.
