Hoping to get my Optishift trans controller installed on the truck soon, but i'd like some advice from the guys that have done it. I know most guys here run a PCS, but this should be pretty much identical. Mainly looking for the best place and method to tap into the factory wires. I want to do it cleanly in case i remove the controller down the road. I'm also wanting to use my cruise control buttons for the manual shift like a couple guys here have done. I'm sure this is pretty simple, but i HATE wiring and i hate modding a factory harness.

From what i've gathered on their this is a list of wires i need to tap into:
Keyed 12v power
PCM ground
TPS input to the PCM
VSS+ wire between PSOM and PCM.
2 wires at the PRDNL switch for range selection
Blue/Black wire in the steering column for cruise control

Subscribing as I'd be interested to hear more. I've thought about manually shifting my BTS along with manually locking the converter

Only reason i'm doing it is for the manual shifting. With Minotuar i have the PCM shifting it how i want it, but theres a lot of times when towing that i want to be able to hold a gear or downshift. Not cheap though. I think a PCS is close to $900 with a wiring harness, i paid half that for this Optishift. I think it retails for $550 with a harness.

Sounds like you got it figured out already. Just got to dig in there and do it.

Not sure I understand thou. You said the only reason your doing this is for the manual shifting. Can't u just put a Manuel lockup switch for converter lockup in cab and the rest just use your gear shift and overdrive button to comand your shifts. I'm I missing something? Seems like a lot of work for same results.
