pinion length???

So I want to put a Pinion flange on my 10.25 rear end, but not sure on which one I have, the long or short version. How can you tell? I do have one I replaced last fall with broken ears sitting in the shop I can measure. Just not sure where to measure from

the change over year is something like 1992 so if it is the stock rear from your powerstroke it is a long pinion
