My 2004 F350 DRW with a leaking pinion seal, 2 questions, what size is the pinion nut, and what does it torque to

I have never done gears myself on these trucks but all the sets I have done you dont torque the nut per say. You have a drag from the pinion that comes a torque reading but I have always done it on feel. It is in in-lb.

IIRC, when I did mine on the OBS, mark it and count the threads before removing the nut (I did it with calipers). Change the seal and reinstall the nut to same location. You don't want to disturb the crush and preload on the pinion washer. The nut should be fairly loose and will come off easily. When its back together, hope the gear doesn't start moaning...:D

Thanks fellas it's been a while since I did one, so I needed a refresher, any idea on the socket size, I'm limited on tools, all mine are in WV and I'm in NV so, I'll be buying it
