The fuel got low to about 45 miles till empty and it shut off on me in front of my house. I tried to turn it on but it just acts like it wants to crank but it just can't. I just put about 4 gallons of diesel and tried to turn it on. Its very hesitant like it cant turn and then it does turn on, but only for like 5 seconds and then it will turn off. The check engine light comes on and a wrench. I checked for any codes but there are no codes. Please help, I really needed to use it today. If nothing works, I will be taking it to the dealer on Monday morning.

Try doing the key sequence that you would do when you change the fuel filters.

Key on for 30 seconds, then off. Repeat without cranking maybe 5-6 times.

What is the FRP? Mine acted like that, when th LPFP **** the bed. It would hold pressure at idle, but as soon as I gave it a bit of throttle, bleh........ Had about 79,000 miles when it went.

Corb also has a good point. From what I gather starving these trucks for fuel is horrible on the pumps and injectors.

Does the fuel bowl on the motor have fuel in it?
Do you have any fuel in the lpfp?
Maybe someone can chime in with a way to check that it is in fact working.

Agreed, take the filter cap off of the under hood fuel filter, and cycle the key. It should fill up, and over flow. It did this to me when I neglected to put the cap back on.... LOL the low pressure is run off the bat, the HP is run off the turning engine, so don't start it, just cycle it.

When you say hesitates to turn are you saying the starter is struggling to turn the engine over?

Any codes?

if it acts hard to turn over the pump might already be no good

Drained the water separator. I then opened the schrader valve by the fuel bowl and cycled it, you could see the fuel was getting to that point. I finally got her to start but she kept on like she still couldn't turn over and then started. There was no codes on until it turned on. She also sounded different while idling. Didn't sound normal like a very light knocking sound. This is the code that came on.

That could be why it died or there is air in the system still.

I'm betting that injector is stuck

I wouldn't run it long. Check the oil level.

Also check the oil fill cap and.make sure you don't have a puff of air.coming.from that cylinder
