Not sure what I did here, I'm installing my amp steps on my 96, and undid the door pin switches from the door frame just to see what I was looking at, plugged them back in, the light inside goes off, but my doors won't lock/unlock from drivers side and will unlock only from passenger side.
My remote alarm won't lock or unlock so I'm sure its tied to the drivers side switch somehow.

Any ideas?

Every door turns the light off, so I doubt its that, any ideas are appreciated.

also it shows number 12 on the schematic for the fuses which is a circuit breaker and won't come out, I'm sure its supposed to come out, but I didn't want to pull too hard incase its not supposed to

replaced drivers switch, passenger switch, nothing changed.

If I energize one wire on the drivers side that goes to the actuator, it unlocks, but if you try the other wire, it doesn't do anything, so this is telling me that the issue is in the door lock function of the truck, but I'm not at a loss on where to go.

any help?

FIXED,

When the alarm was installed, there was a set of relays that are wired into the passenger side wiring harness for the locks.
I never knew they were in the little recess in the kick panel.
I pulled out that disaster and low and behold there was a wire that goes to a relay that was just laying there, broke from its connector, shoved it back in and boom, it all works again.
so I added a new connector and taped it up good and its working again like it did before.

I guess when I put the kick panel back on that side from the electric step install, I must have got it just right or it was barely hanging in there and came loose.

Now after a week of tearing chit out, I got to put it all back together, probably take 2 weeks to get it back together.

After swearing the issue was on the drivers side, and pulling damn near every wire from under the dash, I moved over to the passenger side.

With my power probe I could pierce one of the 2 wires going to the actuator on the door side and "charge it with the probe" and all the doors would unlock, but not lock if I hit the other wire. this is what led me to the other side, nothing would work on the drivers side switch, but the pass would unlock everything, so I deduced down that it must be an issue on the passenger side.
