Power loss

New to this just got a 2009 f250 not even got my plates and its got some issues so I was on the hwy going 65 on cruise control all of a sudden cruise control turns off and I lose power try to excelerate RPM's go up but speed doesn't move. doesn't move forward and loses speed any ideas I'm taking it back to the dealership tomorrow but I just want to make sure they don't BS me with what's wrong

Either buy a scanner like auto enginuity or take it to a dealer. Cheap part store scanners aren't gonna tell you much
