Thinking of going with a powermaxx turbo but im trying to see if its worth it or just keep saving go single non vgt. I would like to get actual time slips and dyno numbers on a stock truck with powermaxx. I have looked at a couple flow charts they will out flow i stock turbo i know that. Still really new to the diesel world just looking for actual input instead of people posting stuff like ya it whistles loud. Later on down the road i would like to run225/100 with a s369sxe but if a powermaxx will provide enough power to hold me off for awhile to do a complete build the right way then for a grand is not to bad.

Yeah but with what he would buy a KC for he's only a few hundred away from a non vgt setup. Unless he found one used for under a grand or more.

Sorry just now seen this. I have a power max stage 2 paired with 185cc injectors and I'm happy with it. I daily drive the truck and the turbo has plenty top end to it even though the Trucks on 37s. Egts stay cool while towing as well. Vague but hope it helps

If your end goal is a non-vgt kit then I would just save and go with that.

But to answer your question about the pmax... I would skip it. Our KC stage 2 turbo will spool faster, tow better, run cooler, and make more power.

175/30 + KC stage is a good 525-575hp. It will spool super fast, run clean, tow anything, and is a very reliable setup.
