buy the kit from strictly its cheaper and comes with all the hutch and harpoon stuff pkus hoses and clamps and such for the easiest install, its what im running and its working good

You need to check the pressure differential. Water fuel sep all work better on the vacuum side but depending on the actual fitler design they can be used on either side. The Donaldson's are good to 100 PSI. As far as strain on the pump on the vacuum side the ones I have listed a number of times are less than 1 psi at there max recommend flow rates. The thing to do is put a pressure sensor there and when vacuum hits a certian level change it. I suggest getting the highest flow rate you can find for the given micron rating you want to go with as the less % your flow rate is compared to its max rating the lower the pressure dif will be on it.
