Got a problem with deranged. Took it out last weekend for the first time since we lost the LPOP last season.

First pass it spooled it some wasnt paying attention but enough to pull at 1.7 60.

2nd and 3rd couldnt spool at all. was watching the boost from the MAP sensor and it was reading high when i was spooling. like 22psi with 0psi. I will read 1-2psi at idle. Its way over fueling. I changed the map out with 3 different maps I knew were working. i will read up to 44psi when its going down the track. Not sure what the problem is. anyone have this problem? I havent had time to work on it since and I will probably only have one day at the most to work on it before tx so any help would be great!.

What my plans are when I start working on it.
un hook map hose competently and see what it does
reload tune
get a new tune
change pcm
change FICM

Here is a spool up video from last season. and one now. Only thing I changed was High pressure has a .91 divided housing now instead of .88 open. (open up pipes, Im swapping back to the .88 before tx) and change the low pressure to a 88mm.

spool up last season. not very much smoke very effortless. Even missing a 1/8'' plug in the up of the up pipes

Well I doubt, it's the MAP sensor since you swapped 3 of them out. Have you checked for codes and any grounds/shorts in the wiring harness?? Not sure how the FICM could cause this. If I were to replace anything, I would do the PCM first, but yea try a new tune or stock tune and see what happens. Best of luck Matt. This does suck.

the thing has like 14 codes at any one time lol joys of having a motor swap. I havent had time to really look at them. FICM can do some crazy stuff trust me.

I might get more time to study it with the computer hooked up to it tonight. I have a truck i need to get done in the shop before I leave. Just seeing if anyone had the problem of the boost the computer sees being way high before.

Put a mechanical gauge on it, I know of a few CTS monitors that would give high boost readings.

I've helped do a tranny swap in the whataburger parking lot before the race a few years ago lol, anything is possible!

it has one. boost reads 0 when trying to spool. If i mess with it tonight Ill try to take a video of the edge readout.

I had the thing reading 44psi on the line trying to spool it. mechanical gauge was on 0 not moving.

you running a tune the still uses the EBP? could the EBP tube be plugged? What about a intake air temp sensor being plugged with carbon? I know these will effect how a vgt boosts, but not sure if it will cause anything in the deranged setup tho.

You have a massive leak somewhere. Did you pressure test the sustem? My truck with a cracked map line would read 0 boost but mechanical would read 45psi.

Would of expected the .91 divided to spool easier then the open. Truck sounds totally different from spool vid to spool vid. Sounds like arse in that second vid and that it hurts almost. Boost leak?

oh yeah sounds way different. its way over fueled.

Havent had time to check for boost leaks other than just quick look over. We suspected a blow intercooler at the track on Saturday because we blew off one of our water lines (shouldn't be under that much pressure) But we took the boost tubes off and no water when the pump was on. it got really hot because we dont have a big enough pump and we just figured the hose got soft and blew off. Need to check for boost leaks. But the map and boost gauge get it form the same spot on the ranger ? dont get why it would see pressure when the mechanical gauge wouldnt.

apply regulated shop air to the map, and increase pressure 0-5-10-15-20.

watch with a scanner and see what it displays. lock it at a pressure and shake the wiring, bending small sections at a time. take notice if the scanner pid changes.

if it does make sure you are still at the same pressure on the regulated shop air first. then look at that section of wiring.

then i would look at a boost. actually i would pressure test the cac first.

Get this. Took the hose off the map and it does the same thing. I'm reloading the tune now. Looked over the intake pipeing really good it all looks good. Going to pressure test it to see if the intercooler blew or somthing But I would think I would be able to hear it in the cab.
