Hey everyone, I had a question about my truck that I wanted help with.

I'm running an SCTx3 tuner on the Performance tune. When I'm accelerating through the rpm's it seems as if it just gains a massive about of power at a specific RPM (around 2500-3000) Almost like a nitrous hit. It just jumps with power. It doesn't bother me that much. But I'm questioning whether or not this is normal. Can anyone help me shed some light on this? :lame2:

Dump the canned tunes get custom
Second that, you will notice a big difference from the canned tunes. Innovative, gearhead, tsd they are all good. I personally prefer gearhead, truck runs smoother on his tunes.

OP, are you running a original X3 (prior 2008) that holds canned and custom tunes, the newer X3 version (after 2008) only holds custom tunes?

Thanks everyone for the great response! From what I've been reading I think I want to go with the Innovative Diesel Tunes. I tried calling them yesterday with no luck. Just wanted to ask what the turn around time is on getting a custom tune made?

My SCT has a Perfromance tune Street tune, and a couple different tow tunes. Plus a custom tune (The guy I bought it from already had some stupid smoke tune on it. Which I will never use).

Thanks,
Daniel

I would email them. They got back with me that day. I told him all I had done to the truck. He edited the tune then sent it to me by email. When I got it I loaded to my Livewire ts and right away put it on the truck. I then broke in the trans

I sent a message yesterday evening. We will see if they get back to me today.

Thanks for the advice. I will also look into Gearhead as well.

Mine has that light switch effect with Eric's tunes. Just saying.

Granted, I did notice better power throughout the rpm range, but you roll into the throttle, and it's still like flipping a switch like the op mentioned.

Ended up ordering a tune from Eric@Innovative today.

I will give feedback once I get it. (Hopefully today!)

I don't mind the "light switch" effect so much. I was just curious if it was something wrong with my truck or not.

Which tune did you get?

Also, make sure you take a good chit before you take it for the first drive. If you don't, you might chit your pants!

I've been running the SCT canned performance tune(120hp/248tq) un-studded. How would the new tune compare?

On IDP site, Extreme X is 190rwhp. Not sure if he cut it back some since you aren't studded yet or not. But it will be a noticable difference regardless. Powerwise, and also in all around driveability, compared to those canned tunes.

Received my custom tune in 3 hours after placing my order! Awesome customer service so far. I will load the tune when I get home from work and let everyone know what I think.
