Hey everyone, so this coming Friday my buddy has talked me into racing him on the 1/8th mile track we have pretty close to us. He has an 06 duramax with a 6" lift, on 35's, with efi live, airdog, and track bars, and beefed up tierods. He ran a few weeks ago and his best time was an 8.9153 @ 76mph. Do yall think I'll be able to take him well? I have supporting mods, RR, 6.4 lift pump with a sump, afe intake, a single plane billet wheel, running the SPD tune currently with early lockup, leveled on 35's. What do ya'll think will happen? And how much boost should I leave the line with? I've never ran at the strip before. Thanks!

I think you will take him.. 8.9 is not to impressive. I leave around 10-15psi.

Goodluck. My best 1/8th was 9.2@72. I have a CCLB on 35s. That was with an mtw stage 1 turbo. I havent gone since my Barder turbo and ported manifold.

I went 8.6 stock turbo and injector. It's on 305/50s though.

You being an extended cab short bed should be able to take him.
Don't go by boost! Start at 1800rpm and work from there.

Surely a efi live dmax puts out more than 450 cuz he is lucky to be making that much. It will be ur smaller size truck and how you drive it that means the difference

It will be close. My best is 8.83@75 with intake, exhaust, and SPD tune. Hopefully that compressor wheel helps out a little bit for you.

You may wanna drop that 400 pound bumper off the front of your truck, if that's it in your avatar.

Don't forget to put it into 4x4 well before you stage.

It sure sounds like it will be a close race. Im definitley not going to be over confident about it. I would be quite suprised if I won! I rode with him down to Texas diesel nationals this past weekend and it felt pretty quick. Hopefully I can get my launch down and get some solid runs in. And why go by rpm instead of boost? Thanks guys for the help

Haha yeahhh I plan on taking it off once I find a stock front bumper. Im also thinking about going back to stock heigth and putting some 420's on 20x10's this summer. And I won't forget to! Mine's on the floor. Do you just leave it in the whole run?

Everyone says go off RPM. But I say try one run off RPM and the next run off boost. First time I went to the track with my truck I launched off boost 20psi and I cut 1.7 60fts every run that night(6 runs). Next time I went and took everyone's advice and I left at 1800RPM I was cutting 1.7-1.9 60fts. So I say try and few different things and find out what works best for you.
