Looking to put 4.10's in my 450, which currently has 4.88's. I haven't spent much time digging but i keep finding different info on it. It looks like theres a couple different styles of ring and pinions available(thick or thin), which one do i need? Its a Dana 80 BTW.

The carriers are different depending on what gear ratio you have. 4.10 and up is a different carrier than 3.73 and down. A thick ring gear would be used if you would want a 4.10 gear ratio and up and used a 3.73 and down carrier. They make thick ring gears so people can use the carrier that they already have to save money. In your application you would want to stay with the thin ring gear

Is it a 2wd? Since its only a dana 80 it may be just as easy to find a D80 with 4.10s from a 350 cab and chassis.

I can't remember if you just need to swap the out bearing for the 19.5s. Or you could run the 16s. Just throwing a option out for you.
