Hey guys i need a set of rear 2" lowering shackles for a 2008 f250 2wd. Who makes them? I've looked and most people don't list anything for a 08 and up. Also I don't want a 5 " hanger and shackle combo. Thanks.

I used a DJM lowering shackle for a 2003 2wd on my 2012 4wd...the width of the leaf was the same 3". I presume it's the same for yours too.

That's good to know. It should be the same. I will double check the width to be sure. Thanks for your help.

If you don't tow, the parts houses usually have lowering shackles in the stores. They really aren't bad for what they cost. I'd at least suggest looking at them.

Yeah I just bought the djm ones from a website that sells them cheaper than djm's website. Let me see if I can dig up the website invoice through my email.

Ok found it: http://www.stylintrucks.com

I haven't installed them yet because I can't break the bolts loose with the tools I have, waiting for work to slow down a little so I can get to a buddies shop to do the swap.

Guys let me ask you. Are these 2" shackles. On their site it lists them as 1" for the f250. Is this right?

Yeah idk why they list them as that, check the part number it's the same as the djm part number on djm's website. Each shackle has 2 holes to put the leaf spring bolt through, so it's a 1"-2" depending on which slot you pick.

I do have some experience with that. If you add drop shackles only it will give your pinion a nose down angle and most of the time requires a 2 degree shim to correct it and keep from binding or vibrating driveshaft.

Ok guys. I have researched this for a week now with alot of mixed opinions. Here is my results. Djm makes a shackle for 99-2007 f250 and it is advertised as a 1" drop. The measurements of the shackle confirm this. Now, I was dead set on a true 2 " drop shackle but it appeared most people advertising a 2" was actually not a 2" shackle. So I came across western chassis. I called them and finally found a true 2"shackle. Part #2007 for 99-2007. Works on 08 up as well. They pulled them and read me the measurements so I could verify. Looks like I will have about 1/4" between the shackle and the bed when I'm done. This should achieve the amount of drop I need on this 2wd without pulling leafs. I will post pics before and after as soon as they arrive.

I pulled the bottom over load on mine and dropped it about 1.5". With my caltracs on I just pulled about 13000 pounds with no problem. Just a thought also.

Interested in seeing how this works out for you. I'd like to do something like that on mine. Here's mine with the rear overload removed. I think it could stand to be a little lower in the back an then lower the front to match.

Well guys i can confirm the part # for a 2" drop shackle from djm that does work on a 2008 f250 or 350. It #sh3015-1. It is the same shackle that fits the 99-2007. They are listed as 1" drop which is incorrect. The shackle is almost 3.5 inches longer than stock. I just received these from summit racing and they are very high quality. I will take measurements before and after install and report back.

Man I haven't got mine installed yet, I tried breaking the bolts lose on the shackle with a breaker bar and couldn't get them to budge. I jacked it up and put jack stands under the frame rails and then jacked up the rear end just before it would start to lift the frame off the stands. Is that how you do it or am I totally doing it wrong??

Well. I figured I would end all of my wondering about lowering shackles on a 2008 f250-350. I ordered the two only sets made that claim to fit a 99-2007 f250-350 truck. Here is what I found. Djm shackles are far superior with bushings and thickness of shackle. As thick or thicker than stock. Now the western chassis are thinner than stock. Had rubber bushings that had fallen out in the box. Very economically made if you get my drift. So I installed the djms and the fit was perfect. Had a 1/16" of clearance from new shackle to bed. They lowered truck a true 1.5" and it rides so much better. Also wanted to add that i checked my pinion angle before and after and it was 2.5° before and 3° after so it really didnt change that enough to worry about. No vibrations and much smoother ride. So for all that were wondering. Djm do fit an 08 up with no isuues. Here is the part # listed below.

Like I said they are close but both sides had 1/16" of clearance. They do not rub. I inspected thoroughly after a drive down the road.

Nice. What did you do to keep the shackle from moving when loosening the nut? When I go to crank that nut loose, the leaf flexes and the shackle moves and I can't get it loose.
