Rear axle Compatibility: 89 to 95 F350

I have a 1995 F350 7.3 crewcab. When I purchased it the rear axle was so rusted some parts of the pumpkin have over 1/2" of scale on them. I found a clean rear axle out of a 1989 F350. Same axle ratio, posi. Are the axles interchangable? Is there anything else I should look for?

They both are 10.25 but the pre-93 axles had a smaller yoke.
