Well that depends on how good of worker you and if you take any breaks, how many time you have to walk to and from the tool box to get tools and other stuff.

So an hour to all day?

Save yourself the trouble of dropping it and remove the bed. It makes everything a lot easier to remove the bed than to drop the tank.

^^^x2 on that..... its easy to take the bed off and that makes it super easy to drop the tank but if you dont have the stuff to do it, then just take your time and but the fuel disconnect tools. thay are not very expensive

If you have a lot of rust on the under carriage pulling the bed may turn into a huge F fest. Or if it's the flatbed in his avatar you can't get 2-3 people & just lift it off. Dropping the rear tank out the bottom isn't that bad so long as it's empty.

The one I am going to change tanks on is my 95 with box on it. After looking this weekend I discovered that my DMI ag hitch sticks out too far so I have to drop that off (heavy as hell) or pull the box and take it off the top. Either way it won't be fun because someone put a 5th wheel ball plate in the bed and that will all have to come off if I go with the box option. Might be a good time to rework that......

I done mine when i replaced the rear shackles and hangers and i bought new straps and rounded up new hardware for it because my truck was from northern ohio/michiagn and its rusty as hell underneath. before i got it and ive replaced both tanks now and had to cut or break everything in my way to do it. I wanted to pull the bed too but my gooseneck is so rusty i dont want to mess with it

What size of tank do you have? I am planning on putting a DMI bumper on my truck and looking for a replacement tank as mine is 45 gal. and is huge and hangs low.

I am pretty sure that isn't going to work. I have the stock tank size and as memory serves me there is only about 4 inches between the tank and the hitch.

Most likely I am going to wait till this summer and do some repair work on that truck and pull the box off. My gn hitch that is in there now is horrible and I want to replace that. Then I can fix the tank, put in new hitch, and repair everything with box off.

Thats why I was asking, I know my tank won't work, just wondering how big of tank you have, I am looking for a smaller one, just don't know how big I can go. I am looking for a stock sized tank.
