Looking for advice on putting a rear swaybar on my truck. It is a 2001 CCSB F250 and I'm assuming never came with a swaybar from the factory.

Will I notice a big difference by installing a rear swaybar? If so is the stock one okay or should I invest in a larger one?

Even adding a stock one is a big improvement. Doing Hellwigs on both ends is my preference though.

Will I notice more of a difference from an upgraded front sway bar due to the additional weight up front?

Opposed to just adding a rear swaybar.

Too much bar on either end brings on its own issues. I'd do the rear bar before a bigger front bar but that's just me. You should be able to find a stock bar for cheap...just go grab everything from a junkyard. I think I paid $50 bucks for a stock bar and all the hardware a while back for my 04.

Yes. Whs. On a fairly stock truck just having the oem stuff fitted will be a great step forward. Idk how people go around without them.

What happens if you overdo the bar?

I had issues bending the longer links and my stock bar on my lifted truck. I wound up getting some made from Moog and they have kasted 8 or 9 years. Ive been trying to remove my 15 year old liftkit this weekend and was contemplating sway bar link options.

My plan is to go for oem or oarts store stuff for now. I bought a set of Rancho rs7000 for all four corners just because i dont know how this is all going to work. Its been lifted so long I have no baseline. Ill run it and if the ranchos chit the bed Ill go to some fox or even bilstein dampers. Its a leafspring truck so its never going to ride great. I did get sulastic rear shackles.

Old truck but my concerns stand.

Yea, I've gone for years without it and i'm sick of the roll in the corners. I at least want to get a stock bar for the rear.

In your opinions is it worth the extra money to go with the upgraded bars from the start?

Thats what I do NOT know.

Maybe it causes you to lift a rear tire in corners.

My front bar is big. Its a hellwig from waaay back. Ill just replace the links on that end.

IInteresting post for sure!

After doing a little research, it sounds like too much sway bar will transfer every little bump to the other side causing a harsh ride.

Ive heard that, knowing Rich its possibly something else. With as many of us that run large wheels and tires that have very little sidewall i thought it may be performance related.

Anyway, to be on topic, my local guy said he had a complete rear setup off an 02 for $60. That was already pulled.

Im sure pulling it yourself would be cheaper yet.

I'd be interested in hearing how tire/wheel size plays a role as well as how much lift factors into the equation.

Obviously a higher center of gravity will affect roll, but how much do tire size/sidewall affect roll?

I just meant the tiny sidewall makes for a chitty ride regardless of suspension.
