I'm thinking the three buttons are maybe garage door openers but can't find anything in my manuals about what they are or how to program them. Any help is appriceated.

Looks like thats on an 08+ model truck. If it is, that mirror is not the original from the factory.
Id search the aftermarket mirrors and see if you can find out what brand it is. Maybe take it off the mount and see if it labeled on the backside.

Well that would explane why I can't find anything in my manuals about it. Might have to pull it and see what I can find this weekend.

Homelink garage door opener buttons.

Is that like a home security system or something?

I'm getting the feeling that these buttons aren't going to do me any good if they need to be linked to another system.

Nope. All theyre for is to open and close your garage door. Program them with a normal opener then you can use those and not have to worry about the opener.

Try following the programming instructions of your garage door. Usually there is a "LEARN" button on the unit or the push button on the wall.

Sure looks something like this one
Gentex 50-GENK3545

Sure does look like it and the description sounds right except that I don't think mine has the LCD but there is a decent size cable running to it so I'm going to do some looking this weekend.

No garage right now so no opener but hopefully in a few months. At least I now have some idea of what to do.

Thanks all.
