Removing spring from under filter

Has anyone heard of removing the spring from under the fuel filter and what would be the purpose of this?

allows fuel to be able to enter the lines easier, with less restriction/obstructions in the way.

also remove the screens and check valves in the fuel fittings at the heads

When you put a filter in, it pushes the plastic piece down to allow fuel to flow in the top of the plastic tower... its a safety so dumbasses dont try to run the truck without a filter.. but it is a restriction. So get the tube and make sure it gets put back in or sediments from the bottom will go through the injectors easier.
