So here's what im looking to do. When i get my rigid 20" light bar i want to wire it to come on when i turn on the high beams. How do i do it? Do i use a relay switched by the highbeam wire to get power to the lightbar?

Also gonna replace the factory fogs with duallys.

And also looking at getting a britebox, anyone have experience using the britebox?

Factory high beam wire serves as a trigger for the relay instead of the switch that comes with the kit. Easy peasey.

If you want to get fancy, you can hook it up to your up fitters and trigger that relay also with your high beams. You will need to put two diodes in to keep from back feeding.

Brite box to run fogs and highs?

ive been warned that 05+ headlight assemblies arent up to the heat that a "bright box" (both filaments lit on high beam) will produce.

you should know that neither of the light assemblies you are proposing to use are rated for highway use and do not have suitable beam patterns. that will get you a ticket in some jurisdictions, especially the fogs that will be on on low beam.

If you're getting a 20" Rigid bar, you won't need the Brite Box anyways. Your high beams will get completely lost in the Rigid's light. I covered both head lights with the Rigid on, then uncovered them, and there was little to no additional light with them uncovered.

Maybe you should dial it back a couple of notches. I thought it was a reasonable response to the op's question. If I am debating doing something, then I want to see both sides of the coin.

But why? I don't believe they don't bother anyone unless you have them pointed directly to the ground. But then it's pointless.

well they are low enough that they dont light up peoples faces when they come at me. they are high enough to light up plenty. they are on the same angle as my headlights just lower

Maybe ill get the dually D2's for fogs with a driving beam, aimed right they wont bother anyone. And im still thinking 20" bar mounted on my ranchhand for use on back roads and night when on empty roads. I had the HID lights on my 04 aimed high, they got way out there and gave me so much visibility with my HID headlights. Never got flashed with em on cause id cut em off when id see a hint of headlights comin my way

I've been looking at various lighting solutions for the past couple weeks, discussing it on a couple websites.

I'll be replacing the halogen bulbs in my stock headlights with HID projector assemblies and probably building a set of HID projector fog/driving lights.

I don't get LEDs, except maybe the JW Speaker lights that I can't afford.

I'll write up my solution when I build it.
