rocker arm noise?

Just trying to find out if anybody has any sound clips of rocker arm failures. I think I might have one going but I'm not sure. It has almost like an exhaust leak sound now and then but its not the manifolds or up pipes that I can tell. I'm almost thinking an arm is seizing up possibly:shrug: Any help is appreciated.

Does it sound like a machine gun at a certain RPM? I only ask since you have a 6 speed as well

That tick seems to be very common, mine has done that on the 2 6.4s that I've had

Not really. Almost only at idle and then its random. It will do it then stop, then a few seconds or a minute later it will do it again. Its kinda weird. I really hope its nothing f**king bad. I can deal with rockers but I really dont want much else:shrug:

Oh and no cel or codes. The truck has no power loss and runs otherwise fine. If I didn't hear the noise I wouldn't think anything was wrong.

Mine sounds the same. It seems to be more exterior (belt pulley wise). I'd check you tensioners and idler pulleys, make sure the bolts are snug.

I do recall this being brought up a few years ago and seemed to be aimed at the A/C compressor

Ok so I checked all of my accessories and pullys out today and no go. Everything is good in that department. But I still have this damn noise. I need to figure this out before I get my build underway. Any thoughts or past problems that sounds like this?

i hear the same faint tick, not as noticable as the video clip, when i had my cab up doing studs all my rocker arms little hardened button at the end are almost worn to steel so i will be replacing all the rocker arms as a kit on both sides, i believe $209 a set and you need two
