So as winter finally comes on, the truck is getting harder to start and smoking more white and blue smoke. Here's a video from this morning, it was about 50 degrees out. When it was 35 the other day, it made a large cloud of white smoke.
It also feels like it has a miss under light throttle at 35-45 mph when the torque converter locks. The whole truck will buck and jerk until about 45 mph. It seems to do this less in OD, but it still is noticeable. The white smoke goes away pretty quickly, but never completely clears up. Are these symptoms of bad injectors?

how many miles are on the truck, and I would say that, that video there isn't much smoke at all. but if you have a miss you need to go after that,

Truck has 168k. I've owned it since 155 and never touched the glowplugs. I have pretty solid maintenance records from the previous owner and he didn't touch them either, so I'm going to say the glow plugs are factory.

Any suggestions what to check to hunt down the miss?

I would start by replacing glow plugs and get a stancor relay. Also only replace plugs with motorcraft ZD-11 I believe they are. From what I have heard from other users, the auto part store ones tend to swell in the head and the tip will break and off comes the head. Also what viscosity and brand of oil is going through the truck and how often do you change it? Oil can and will play a big factor in cold starts. My truck has had Rotella T 15w-40 in it since it was new, just recently switched to Rotella T6 5w-40 synthetic and I did notice a difference in starting and how smooth the trucks runs in the cold.

Hope my long post can help in some way.

I'll get on the glowplugs and relay. I'm running amsoil 10w40 changed every 5k for its entire life. Previous owner also changed it at 5k also but ran rotella.

What should I look at to begin tracking down the miss?

Okay, today I pulled codes P0605 and P1668. From reading elsewhere, this looks more and more like the CPS as mentioned above. When the TC locks in 3rd and 4th, there is a very noticeable shudder that feels like a miss. This seems to go away slowly as RPM's rise. Am I barking up the wrong tree with CPS? What can I check?
