Well long story short I have bought my Dana 60 and am working on rebuilding it. But in the mix I have family with health issues, my own health issues, and am moving and trying to sell a house, so I have no time to do anything just due to being very busy.
There's a very competent local 4x4 off road shop who will do me an RSK for cheap - I have a buddy deal going there. Couple hundred bucks they said.
I wonder if it would be possible to get them to do an RSK and install the SD springs for me, but leave the TTB and 4" drop center brackets, for another couple months, till I finish my axle? That would let me finish my axle rebuild and make the swap-in much quicker when the time comes. Plus, my new commute has about 15 of the worst backfilled bridge approaches in the free world. It bounces my pore old truck to death.
What would be unsafe / wrong with this? I understand the solid axle springs are much softer... would it be that bad though?
