Running Board Brackets

Has anyone ever took the brackets off the newer F150's and put on the F250s so that the running boards tuck closer to the cab rather than hang 6 inches off the cab and catch mud? I looked at a 09ish F150 with the chrome tubeler running boards like what came on mine and the brackets looked pretty identical with the exception of them holding the running boards closer to the cab, and that may have something to do with bolt on location but I was wondering if anyone has tried or looked into this

You can tuck the 250 ones pretty easily.

I just drilled different holes and cut the plastic cover

I guess thats what Ill try to do as soon as I get a chance. Do you happen to know how much yall moved them up? Maybe an inch and a half?
