A buddy called me today and said his 02 f450 runs fine when its cold but when it warms up it runs like crap. Truck has a new idm, icp, ipr, cps, uvch and vc gaskets. Icp checks out good, passes the buzz test on all cylinders. he said it feels like the timing is wrong amd it feels laggy. No codes on it either. any ideas?

Didn't think about that. Can a bad oil temp sensor do anything like this? I know it messing with the timing when its cold. I was starting to think the pcm is going being retarded.

F450/F550 & F350 cab & chassis all have a steel fuel tank rear of rear axle...and these tanks are KNOWN for coming apart internally...(coating delaminates)

check fuel pressure.

pull tank and blow out lines if FP is low.

here's a link to check FP

http://www.swampsdiesel.com/site/how_to_pdf/pdf/fuel_pressure.pdf

replace tank if debris is in fuel system...

we install a ton of the Titan plastic tanks on 450/550 & C&C trucks with this exact problem...

injectors may also have been irreparably damaged from lack of fuel pressure/contamination if that is found.

I have been dealing with a rough idle for a while. I cannot figure it out either. I have pretty much learned to live with it LOL

Same here. My truck doesn't run to hateful when its cold, but once it gets up to temp it runs rough. I just tell myself its an old truck and ignore it for the most part.

Haven't got a chance to talk to him yet but his big thing was it feels so bogged down.he can't pull a trailer with it, so there is lack of power. I'm going to go and check the oil and fuel pressure.
