school me on tuners

I know nothing about tuners and would like to get one. I am looking to just add a little more power and maybe some better fuel mileage. What are my choices and how do they work? Can you change settings while driving? Who all makes them? ah to know nothing about something. BTW my truck has around 90K and no modes besides the exhaust

I love my SCT with IDP tunes don't trust switching on the fly. Seems like it could mess things up. JMO

Pretty much everyone on here agrees sct is the best when it comes to the 6.0. I think I know of a few guys running h&s on a 6.0 with good results as well. The custom tuning support sct has is tough to beat.
