hey guys I work at a fleet shop that has 2, 2005 6.0 strokers...these trucks never go on the streets and they never go above 45mph..I know it's a bad situation for these trucks but I dont have control over what corporate buys.

we are having lots of problems with these trucks..egr's, turbos and most recently the fuel supply channel in the head cracked and allowed fuel to dump on top of the valve:doh:

we are going to do EGR deletes, studs and updated oil coolers since the truck is torn down.
we are going to get SCT programers for each truck since the ecu's have been updated with EGR coding from ford....

BUT what i'm wondering is are there any good SCT custom tune shops that could build us a De-tunned program that will have egr delete coding and possibly detune the trucks LOWER then stock HP??

these trucks literally idle around ALL day and night on 3 shifts...
any shop suggestions?
thanks for any info you can offer..

I'm sure one of the tuners could hook you up with something, I know some of them offered a "valet" tune that wouldn't let it go over 15mph or something absurd.

Install factory high idle setups if they idle a lot, that will cut down on a lot of issues too. Do these trucks have the factory upfitter switches next to the brake controller? If so, it's a 5 minute job. If not, it's $100 for the upfitter setup and maybe 30 minutes to do all the work.

We can write custom SCT files as well, turning off the EGR system and detuning them shouldn't be an issue. Let us know if we can help

we got the high idle's enabled....problem is getting the people who drive the trucks to use it...

Yes I have done a few very heavy mining trucks and detuned them via SCT. Usually Mike@KEM does the Detunes for me.

wire them key on hot that way they don't have to flip the switch on however they will still need to set the e brake.

I would think you could change the cold weather idle to kick up until a higher tempature is reached, then they would idle up everytime you parked them.
