Finally got around to installing the SDP Downpipe on the 15'. Had some spare time this past week and I have been very curious on the difference.
Definitely not as difficult as I have read on their forums. 2 hours, some long extensions and swivels are a must. One tool I would recommend having is an air chisel to break the Downpipe loose from the turbo. Could also use a strong thin piece of steel. Long story short, there is a bracket that can be leveraged up to break/loosen the Downpipe from the turbo.
As far as the Downpipe itself, it definitely has a lower tone at WOT. Reduced the high pitchness at WOT significantly.
Turbo whistle is more noticible, helps to have an aftermarket intake as well.
Idling sounds the same.
Still comparing egt's. It's been hotter than all get out here in the dirty south so it's hard to tell a difference.
All other tempatures stayed the same.
If you like to listen to your truck a lot while driving, you will definitely be satisfied. As far as performance, it's a great suporting mod.
