This just happened out of no where. Went to go to work and I couldn't get the shifter to move out of park. I had to really mash the brake pedal to finally get it out of park. Shifting to any other gear is fine. Just keeps getting stuck in park. Anyone have any ideas on what would cause this? Truck is in my sig. Thanks.

Look under the column. There are two torx head bolts where the shifter attaches to the column that like to work loose. If they are, do yourself a favor and take the bolts out, put a dab of blue, not red loktite on them on tighten them down.

Replace the bushings. This is your issue. Should probably repair the od switch while you have the column covers off. It's probably chaufed if not already broken through

My brake lights are coming on. I just picked up new bushings today. Ill try and get them installed tonight. The old ones are so worn out the whole shifter moves up and down a quarter inch. Well maybe not that much but you get the idea

Just follow the wire. When the top column cover is off, move the shifter and you'll see exactly where the wire rubs. If it' not frayed yet, wrap it up with some tape.

Also, Grease the bushings up...
