Shocks

What kind of shocks are you guys running with your leveling kits? I just clceared 60k miles, and Im ready for some new shocks. I intially thought I wanted bilsteins, but I want to make sure there isnt a better riding shock out there. I was looking at the FOX shocks, but couldnt a find a price anywhere. Ocassional off road, but nothing crazy. Mostly in town. Just looking for a good ride.

I went with real Rancho RS5000's. I like em', but a lot of guys prefer the bilstiens

My brother in law runs bilsteins on his '08, and I dont know if I want to follow his footsteps. I forgot about Icon... duh

I say ICON..I have ridden in a truck with them, the valving is nice

I have the Bilstein but not to sold in them.... Ride rougher than I thought they would.

Wow thats interesting to hear about the bilsteins. When I get a chance, I will check out the ICON shocks... what are they, around $250 a shock?

I have Bilstein 5100's on my truck and they do ride a little rougher than I thought they would. I'm going to try the Icon's next.

Guess you get what you pay for with those Bilstein shocks...paid I believe about $350 for all 4

There are a lot of variables, each person has their own opinion.You also have to ask yourself, what do you use the truck for? You have that question answered already. We have them on our regular cab duramax with airbags and it always has a load attached to it and they ride awesome compared to the stock shocks did even without the air bags. Ill be replacing my shocks shortly and will be going with the bilsteins. Its not worth it to me being double the price, but for you and the way you use your truck, dont get the bilsteins. Get the fox or Icon shocks or the Bilstein 5160s with the remote reservoir .
