I have a set of 265/75R16 tires that have about 50% left on them and want to wear them out before getting rid of them. By "set" I mean four. They came off my excursion. Anyway, my 235's touch now.

Does anyone remember how thick the hub is right there that centers the wheel? If I take a piece of 5/8" plate and torch out a little hub with bolt holes in it and have it ground smooth, will that center properly of is 1/2" (final thickness) too thick to still center the wheel on that hub?

The truck is a 1994 F350.

Nope, stock is 215/85R16.

My 235's don't touch enough to cause any issues, no rubbing is apperant, although there is a black ring where they touch when I pull them apart.

Wow! Didnt know they came with that small of a tire. Either way your better off getting machined 1.5-2in spacers and make sure there hubcentric. If not theres a good chance they will break apart.. i have 2.5in spacers on my truck and run 285s and can go as big as 315s if i needed to with plenty of room to spare.

Bringing this back up. Lincoln do you have any pics? I just put a 2'' spacer on for my 265s and am about to get some 285/75/16s. Just want to see what they look like and if I should go a bit bigger.

Oh got ya.... not yet but I can get some today.... with the 2.5" spacers I have I can still fit my hand/arm between the tires to take the valve stem cap off.... that's how much room there is!

Update: I bought a chassis cab as a parts truck. They have a different backspacing and are factory with 235's. There's an inch between the tires now. Problem solved!!
