My rear tank sprung a leak yesterday. I see Rockauto carries Spectra and Fineline brand tanks. Is one any better quality than the other? They're about the same price.

I bought the Spectra 38 gallon F26e rear tank and it came with a tank mount modification kit. This is supposed to be the one that fits our OBS trucks possibly with the spare retained under the truck. Seems to be OK, buddy will be installing it as soon as he emptys out his old tank. Its up to you to mod the tank guage sender though but has parts included to extend the fuel pickup. Application is 1988 F250 and F350 351(5.8)/460(7.5) gas trucks and is gas and diesel rated. Its less than $155 from Rock Auto.

The current Rock Auto 5% discount code (until december) is 71392465585951. Enter it into the "How did you hear about us" box and click apply.

i put in an F26D (similar to the F26E above) just different fuel filler neck. Get the F26E though for basically plug and play. Mine is a Spectra too and I have had no problems with it. I used a piece of uncoated coat hanger wire as it was the exact same diameter as the stock float sensor arm. I opted to make my own pickup return line extensions with SS pipe and compression fittings (rather then the copper tube in kit). Lastly I put a larger hose on the roll over valve by gutting it and JB welding in a brass street elbow. Have some pix in my sig link within the Red truck folder..
