so i have been looking into a new exhaust for my truck i want to get the mbrp 4in mandural bent turbo back stack kit with 2 smedingdiesel 7" Black Stainless Cat Exhaust Stack

my big thing is how bad is the drone with 2 7in stacks and 4in from turbo back. i am going with the cat stacks due to the fact they should lower that drone level. does anyone have videos or anyone running stakcs that can tell me how bad it is.

depends on cab style also, but mine wasnt bad with dual 7in stacks, i personally love the sound of stacks, but if you end up not liking fte exhaust makes resonators for them also

Cruising down the road it's just as quiet as stock almost. Taking off it can get loud. If you tow anything you can forget about having a conversation with your passengers until you're up to cruising speeds. I've got the mbrp turbo back into dual 6in mitres. No muffler or cat. Trying to trade for a cool dual setup or a single 5in and some cash. Stacks are awesome, but I'm kind of over it.

You'll often try to turn your radio down hoping the stacks will get quieter too..
wow thats awsome. i love that quote

thanks sounds like there just what i want. stock for now quite at cruise thats my main concern, i am trying to get moved to colorado or washington state and driving back to texas everynow and then woudl suck if they would quite bad. i want them to sounds mean when i punch it and i dont care much for talking to people when i tow untill i get to speeds if thats the case. and when i finally up the power they will be the best choice. thanks for the replies, and the mbrp was one of the cheapist i saw, due to the fact that duals and tips would cost the same even after i buy stacks (depends on who i buy from)

i aint a stranger to loud exhaust. full stright pipe mercades 300d body with a supra motor in it. and a 72 bettle stright with a stinger exhaust, get pulled over and ask to turn the car off so the cop can have a conversation with you at idle :D hahaha could hear both cars 1m away. but this is my daily and i am worried at cruise it being bad, but sounds deadening, the cats and your guys statments make me feel better about the stacks

stacks arent too bad, it'll depend on what options your truck has...xl,xlt,lariat etc...they put more insulation in depending on the model. it will have a drone though.

a slight drone i am ok with, i mean i still want it to be loud just not all the time in the truck. plus when i get moved to my new base all the carpet seats interior is being stripped putting down some paint to insulate it and keep some noise out then i might rhino line that because i just hate carpet and then hopefully get king ranch interior for it and call it a weekend

I have a single 7'' with 5'' dp on my 07. Under load it can be a tad loud, but I have compounds and that muffles it a great deal. I had a straight pipe on my 6.0 and under normal driving it was no louder than stock, wot was where the sound was.

I would highly suggest a muffler if you tow, period. Anyone remember having an old truck with cherry bombs and pulling a trailer, that totally sucks beyond belief.

i almost never tow. and only tpwing i plan on doing is maybe a trailer with 1 car on it. any of my racers i am currently doing. and thats not going to be for long unless i take that car and trailer to the next dutty station, thats saying that i get a trailer and i have the money/time to build it up next station

but thats all for the tips. i am currently getting stacks form young 7.3 will be buying the mbrp turbo bakc T pipes, sending them home and letting my brother tackle the job and let him injoy my truck some more :( hahaha
