So my stock injectors just bit the dust. Time for some new injectors. I am toying with the idea of just skipping stage 1's and putting 160/80's in my truck. My question is I just have the stock turbo with the 1.0 housing. Will it be too much for my truck?? I have a t500 hpop and a dp-tuner with 7 tunes on it. I plan on doing e-fuel later on. And will upgrade the turbo later on down the road if needs be.

For everyday cruising I didn't have a problem with my stock turbo but it was lacking on long hill climbs and hot takeoffs. Could just have your new tunes setup to decrease the output of the injectors so you don't overrun the turbo.

You could get away with a stock turbo when running stage 1's (160/stock or 160/30), but you would greatly benefit from an upgraded turbo on stage 2's. Since you have an OBS, there really isn't a good drop in replacement turbo. My recommendation would be an H2E.

I ran 160 stageIIs with a 1.0 turbo for a long time with big oil and intercooler and could tow 10k in the 385 hp dynoed tow setting. As long as you don't sled pull or do massive burnouts you're ok. I did do 90+ dyno runs, a few 1/4 runs and full boost daily. Pull it out of OD when Egts rise and tow without problems. I just didn't tow above 70mph @full trailer weight.
.
Loved to pass the motorhomes on the grades towing the trailer with a F-250/350 4x4 PSD on board.

If that doesn't work out then read Jeremiah Mercer's thread on his BASB turbo install.

Don't forget the intercooler.
